Kainos celebrated its 50th year of inception on April 4th at the San Mateo Marriott. Over 325 people attended the event to support and witness the magic of Kainos as we took a journey through our past, celebrated our staff, work and residential programs and previewed our promising future. Kainos continues to evolve while maintaining our commitment to our clients to ensure that each person lives their best lives every single day. Here's to the next 50!

The Kainos Annual Golf Tournament was held on Monday, April 29th at the Stanford Golf Course. We would like to thank all of our Sponsors, Golfers, MC and Volunteers who made the event such a success! We had the biggest golfer turn out in the tournament's history. Thanks to everyone's generosity we were able to exceed our matching donation challenge from Josie Shiff . The Fund A Need itself raised over $90,000! All the golfers had a wonderful time and we are already working to make the 2025 tournament even better!

12th Annual Fashion Show
August 24, 2024

On Saturday, August 24th Brian and Dianne Morton opened up their beautiful estate in Atherton to host the Kainos Fashion Show. Kainos could not be more grateful to this amazing family that completely underwrote the event which allows us to raise critical funds for our programs.

The residents of Kainos were our models and needless to say they put on quite a show! With Kainos’ very own JeNelle Wiley choreographing the music and modeling moves and Melene Belstock of Chico's Los Altos describing the fashions it was the perfect combination for the runway show. To top it off Kainos resident, Scott Phister delighted the crowd with his rendition of Simon & Garfunkel’s Scarborough Fair. An absolute perfect day!

A Salute to Our Stars Gala was a night to remember! Held at the Grand Bay Hotel in Redwood Shores on Saturday October 26th. Kainos welcomed 325 guests to honor our Stars, those we serve here at Kainos.

After a sweet invocation from our 2023 Citizen of the Year, Eyra Alonzo, we recognized Rudy Aguilar, Hector Carlos, Mary Dempsey, NicoleDokonal, Allison Easterbrook, Sharon Erickson, Greg Fogelstrom, Jayne Glascock, Jesse Junglas, Kristin Kilty, Larry Knox, Sione Mafileo, Pam Naftzger, Jabri Perkins, Diane Phillips, Bridget Ruff, Susan Regan, Alex Schneider, Stacy Schreiber, Grant Stevens, Chauncey Tannyhill, Greg Tracey, Brian Walker and David Widdra with our Special Recognition Award for their continued efforts to make a difference in their community and their constant hard work to live out their dreams.

Andy Frisch had the honor of saluting our Shining Star Awards to the top achievers in each of the Kainos programs.  These folks included Kayla Belick, Dominique Davalos, Lukas Draper, Tony Duncan, Patty Eason, Pablo Puerto, Jordan Vasquez and Simone Wright.  Their achievements throughout the year were indeed shining and enveloped the spirit of Kainos.

Our highest honor, Citizen of the Year, went to John Wallen.  John who has been a resident of Kainos for 4 decades, a man who has contributed to his community and an individual that has made the differences in not only his life but those he is surrounded by.  John has faced health challenges this year and continues to stay positive, joyful and determined!
